White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles offers its own Health TV program in English and Spanish.

Los Angeles, CA, December 19, 2014 -- White Memorial Medical Center (WMMC) recently celebrated its one year anniversary of having its very own Spanish language TV show Tu Mundo Hoy now airing on MundoFox Ch. 22 every day at 8:30 AM. The half-hour daily program is so successful, the hospital launched an English version of the show Your World Today last month (Nov. 9) on KDOC Ch. 56, airing every other Sunday at 2:30 PM. Both shows provides viewers with information they can use as they face a variety of health issues, helping them to better understand and enhance their well-being. The shows feature White Memorial Medical Center doctors, nurses and staff. Both shows provides health education and tips such as how to prevent diabetes, heart disease, obesity and other chronic illnesses. Segments specifically address issues related to the overall health and well-being of its viewers.

White Memorial Medical Center has been a part of the community for generations. Keeping the community healthy has been the mission of the hospital since it was founded by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1913. The hospital is a thriving part of the neighborhood, presenting health fairs and other community services throughout the year. The launch of the shows bring health education right into consumer homes, giving viewers information they can use on subjects they are concerned about, thus extending the services of the hospital outside the hospital walls.

The English program Your World Today is hosted by longtime Los Angeles reporter Ofelia de la Torre and White Memorial Medical Center Associate Carigane Vonpohle.

The Spanish show is hosted by Emmy award-winning radio personality Carlos Alvarez and Ofelia de la Torre.

"We’re excited to bring meaningful health content to the communities we serve. The programs present local experts to discuss the latest health news such as healthcare reform (ObamaCare) and other timely topics to help give viewers a clear understanding of the issues. Viewers meet our doctors and learn about the comprehensive services we offer at our hospital,” says White Memorial Medical Center’s President and CEO, Beth Zachary.
