What’s Old is New at the Red Skelton Tribute Show in Las Vegas

The skyline of Las Vegas may be in a constant change, the revamping of New York New York and Monte Carlo. Even the Sahara is getting a facelift soon to be the SLS.

Las Vegas, NV, September 19, 2013 -- Las Vegas is an ever changing community, they seem to love the expression "Out with the old and in with the new!" I believe this started with the Dunes which is now where the beautiful Bellagio sits with it’s magnificent fountain show that takes place on Las Vegas Boulevard several times a day. The Bellagio fountains seem to dance with the music that is played during the grand performance.

The Imperial Palace is now the Quad and O’Sheas has gone away allowing the Linq to be opened in early 2014 with the world’s largest observation wheel towering over the top of the Las Vegas hotels allowing visitors spectacular views of the Las Vegas strip.

So out with the old and in with the new, right?? Not at the Red Skelton Tribute Show in Las Vegas. They believe what was old is now new. These old routines are now new again in the spirit of Red Skelton

Red Skelton was a very funny man who started off working on Mississippi river boats, performed in Minstrel shows and burlesque theater. Then after doing dance-a-thons during the depression era he got his break doing vaudeville up in Canada.

Red Skelton humor consisted mainly of quick one liners and play on words.
The jokes were never off color and that still holds true today in the afternoon shows at the Westin Las Vegas Hotel Casino and Spa.

Re-live the "Golden Age of Television" with a trip down memory lane in Brian Hoffman’s Las Vegas Afternoon show, Remembering Red - A Tribute to Red Skelton and find out first hand that what was old, is now new.
