Two Day Summit of BRICS Nations’ Tourism Ministers at Khajuraho

The Summit which is being organized under the auspices of the Tourism Ministry of Government of India will be inaugurated on September 1, 2016 at the world famous tourist place Khajuraho. Under the two day summit, important and meaningful discussions, presentations and group discussions will take place. Central Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent Charge) Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Tourism, Culture (Independent Charge) and Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development of Madhya Pradesh Shri Surendra Patwa and Chairman of State Tourism Development Corporation Shri Tapan Bhoumik will take part in the summit. Welcome speech will be given by the Central Tourism Secretary Shri Vinod Jutshi whereas Tourism Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Shri Hari Ranjan Rao will give presentation. Presentation by Tourism Ministry focusing “Atulya Bharat” on Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar states will be given on the first day of the summit. On the same day, presentation by the representatives of the BRICS Nations and Indian Association of Tours Operators (IATO) will be given. An attractive cultural programme is being organized by the tourism ministry in co-operation of the North Region Cultural Center at the evening of the first day of the summit. Also, handicrafts and handloom etc. will be displayed at the summit place. Indian Travel Trade and the representatives of their colleagues will have important deliberations with the representatives of the BRICS nations on the second day of the summit followed by Panel discussion by BRICS nations on International Tourism Conservation will be held. Later on discussion regarding use of technology and innovations to adapt changes in the tourism sector will take place. Light and sound show is being organised for the guests on the second day.
Necessary arrangements for proper conduction of summit are being made by the officers of the Tourism Ministry of Government of India in co-operation of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation and District Administration of Chhatarpur.
