swachh bharat abhiyan at RBI Layout on 10-6-2018

Iam sending some pictures of swach bharat abhiyan in RBI Layout JP Nagar 7th phase Bangalore 0n 10-06-2018 morning from 9am to 11am. We covered around 30 roads , around 50 residents participated, we collected more than 25 sacks of paper, plastics, liquor bottles, etc thrown in the roads , drainage etc. Participants were mostly senior citizens retired from RBI and NABARD, there were also few youngsters and few children. Residents got down inside the drain and cleared the garbage them self, its gives a great sense of involvement and commitment when people use their own hands to lift the garbage.
Bangalore has become a garbage city this program by us cannot make the city clean immediately but it will wake up sleeping people, it will bring change in the mindset of people who throw garbage everywhere, the program was supported by BBMP staff of JP Nagar 7th phase. Organised by RBI Layout welfare association. Residents made them self into 5 different teams and each team covered 4 to 5 roads. Lot of liquor bottles were found which were due to MRP shops in the neighbourhood. Many residents had complained for its closure however it was not closed. It is better if these MRP shops are made to pay some cleaning cess which can be used by civic authorities for cleaning.
