Turn It Off!
Turn off all plug sockets, ovens and more to save the house from the risk of fire. But remember not to turn the fridge or freezer off.
Lock Doors and Windows
Work your way through the house, top to bottom and front to back, closing and locking all the windows and doors.
Hide the Valuables
Make sure that the valuables you leave at home are hidden and not on full view to the world outside, put them in drawers, cupboards or a safe (if you have one).
Cancel the Milk and Papers
If you have a regular delivery of anything then cancel it for when you go away, if a Burglar sees 15pints of milk and a stack of newspapers on your doorstep he / she will know youre away.
Visit the Neighbours
Let them know youre going away, ask them to use your drive, collect the post, anything to make your home look lived in.
Do the Garden
Its okay your neighbours looking out for you, but if your hedge is so overgrown then they will struggle to see whats going on.
