Ian Lowe, a Director of the company said “Smoke Screenz produced the YouTube video to demonstrate just how simple it is to personally design a cigarette case using our service and to show visually how the neat design of each case automatically opens the top of the cigarette pack when the top of the case itself is opened”.

He went on to add that “with smokers being increasingly targeted almost as a sub-human section of society for doing nothing other than using a perfectly legal product and on which they pay a disproportionately high level of tax, we felt that they would welcome an opportunity to regain some individuality by not only reviving the once fashionable cigarette case itself but, by using state of the art digital printing technology, allow them to now also completely customize their cigarette case however they wanted using any combination of personal photos, graphics, images and text”.

“Since launching www.smoke-screenz.com at the beginning of November we find we are now shipping orders (postage is included to anywhere in the world) to multi country destinations and our volumes are increasing on a daily basis. Clearly many smokers are fed up with being dictated to by having to view cigarette packets with quite horrific health warning images on them and are prepared to make some effort to regain their individuality as our product allows smokers to completely hide the exterior packaging of their cigarette packs in a solid but lightweight hinged plastic case”.

The company has previously stated that there is no proof whatsoever that plain packaging for cigarette packs will deter children from starting to smoke or to even force adults to reduce consumption. On the contrary they say that there is actually evidence to suggest that plain packaging does little more than make life extremely difficult for tobacconists and much easier for counterfeiters. Recent research by leading Auditors KPMG on the effects of the plain packaging initiative in Australia appears to support this stance.

Although currently the company offer their service only for cases that will cover a regular pack of 20 King Size cigarettes although they state that Super Kings and other sizes will be made available soon.
