SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for the New Porsche Carrera Convertible Now Available

Las Vegas, NV (USA), December 12th, 2012 -- The SmartTOP convertible top module kit ( http://www.mods4cars.com ) offered by Mods4cars for the new Porsche Carrera 991 Convertible is available for order today. The aftermarket product adds convenience and functionality to the convertible top operation. It enhances the center console switch with one-touch auto-operation, removing the requirement to hold the switch down. This gives owners the opportunity to use the top more often and drive with the top down even on shorter trips. It makes bringing the top down or back up less cumbersome.

Additionally it is now possible to control the top from the original factory key remote with just a quick key press sequence after which the top will open or close fully automatically. Also here there is no need to hold down any button during operation. “Our customers can now start a top operation from the remote, get in the car and start the engine, while the top continues to operate”, says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “This is not only a real convenience but also a time saver” he concludes. With the SmartTOP module it is even possible to control just the windows by remote, independently from the top.

The kit offers a couple of bonus features, all of which can be individually selected by the user via a simple setup procedure. The wind deflector operation can be enhanced with one-touch operation as well as full-auto operation when using the remote to open the top. A real convenience for all Porsche Carrera owners who enjoy driving with the wind deflector up. The top can optionally be operated with the keyless touch door handle (if present) without the need to use the remote fob. All windows can be operated simultaneously with the windows switches, removing the need to use the window selector rocker and an extended mode can be activated where either starting or stopping the engine does not interrupt the top operations. The entire module can be deactivated temporarily as well while retaining all user settings.

The module comes equipped with a standard USB port and cable as part of the kit. The support software is available for Windows and Mac OS.

Installation of the kit is simple and easy. A custom designed plug-and-play wiring adapter using original OEM connectors is included. This adapter simply connects the module to the vehicle electronics by replacing one single connector. No cutting wires or soldering is necessary and no permanent changes are made. The kit can be removed at any time without leaving any traces.
