Portland, OR, United States., August 30, 2013 -- Rubicon International is pleased to announce the launch of a major enhancement to Atlas, the firms widely used curriculum management software solution. Atlas v.8s integration of the curriculum development and mapping process with an entirely new range of reporting, tracking and communication features brings a powerful platform for curriculum design and renewal.

An incredibly focused group of individuals developed Atlas v.8, including collaborative partner schools, districts and educators from around the world who provided their thoughts and expertise, said Roger W. Smith, Managing Partner of Rubicon International.
Keeping the busy teacher in mind, we wanted to ensure an intuitive, easy-to-use system, and to enhance the collaborative process that is so critical to effective curriculum design and review, Smith added.

For the past year, Rubicon Internationals collective client service, software development, marketing and professional development teams have been identifying, developing, testing and vetting the key ideas and process behind the Atlas v.8 enhancements.

The firm also collaborated with a group of over 60 educators from around the world in July for a summer camp experience which brought teachers into the Atlas v.8 design review effort. Working with Rubicons software development team, summer camp participants brought a wide spectrum of pedagogical experiences and best practice to help pinpoint discussion possibilities that would provide value to a broad range of schools. The visiting educators, coming from Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and South America celebrated v.8s enhanced capacity to promote connectivity and collaboration across grades and disciplines, which ultimately works to strengthen curriculum and student achievement.

Key new features include increased communication and collaboration tools; easy-to-build reports with sharing capabilities that reflect in-the-moment curriculum; and a dynamic fully-customizable dashboard where teachers can share units, attachments, pin reports and initiate community discussions to improve teaching and learning.
