Qoi’nyi Project Added to the Company’s Mining Sites

Qoi’nyi Lake is located 52 km from lake Zabuye Lake, 42 km from S206 road, connecting the prospect location to G219 China National Highway, 250 km away.
Chengdu, July 09, 2016 -- Concept Mining, a lithium exploration and development company with a focus on becoming a low-cost supplier for the lithium battery industry, announced the adding of the the Qoi’nyi Project, to its mining sites. The project located in the middle of the Tibetan Plateau in Zhongba County (Xigaze Prefecture, The People’s Republic of China), consists an Exploration Permit of 28.47 km2 owned by Concept Mining, at elevations between about 4,670m and 5,030m.
Qoi’nyi is one of a family close basins in the Tibetan plateau on the upper plate of the Himalayan-Tibetan collisional orogen; in detail, it is a Neogene graben at high angles to the structural grain of the orogen. Curiously, and due to partly to extreme aridity, these deposits are in globally exceptional tectonic settings, with Tibet being the largest and highest syncollisional plateau.
The lake brine is hydrochemically unique, forming a comparatively complex and special mineral assemblage characterized by alkaline minerals rich in lithium, boron, potassium, and sodium carbonate. The lake brine stores a significant amount of lithium carbonate in the form of the recently named mineral zabuyelite (Li2Co3), after the Zabuye Lake where it was initially identified.
Cao Dekang, Chief Investment Officer said: “It is important to consider the following aspect for this exploration: the magnesium-lithium ratio (Mg/Li ration), which is an important attribute of brine deposits (in contrast, this ratio has little impact for exploitation of lithium minerals). Magnesium prevents lithium chloride to be formed, which is the first step towards low (0.002), the Mg/Li ratio in brine means that it is easier, and therefore more economical to extract lithium.“
