Pratushka Foundation empowers free education for underprivileged children in Nashik

The Foundation inaugurated their first re-constructed and well-resourced Anganwadi. First ever NGO to enter the remote area of Peth Taluka of Nashik district.
Pratushka Foundation, one of the leading NGOs in Mumbai, inaugurated their first re-constructed Anganwadi in the Tondwal village of Peth Taluka of Nashik district on April 8, 2015. The initiative is a part of the project undertaken by the Foundation to implement and execute various schemes of Maharashtra Government for the well-being of underprivileged children. Mr. Rustom Kerawalla, Chairman and Managing Director, VIBGYOR High Group of Schools was present to grace the occasion.
The Anganwadi is constructed keeping in mind the modern techniques and the state of the art infrastructure, in order to provide free and quality education to children from the age group of 3-6 years. This will serve as a platform to enlighten the young minds on various aspects of modern world. Pratushka Foundation has also provided additional support to children by arranging for school uniform, shoes and study material. Qualified and trained teachers from Pratushka Foundation will also be providing additional teaching services to Anganwadi Sevikas to equip them with modern training facilities.
A prescribed syllabus of Government of Maharashtra for pre-primary Marathi medium school will be followed in the Angadwadi. Topics involved in the syllabus cover basic knowledge of the world that includes names of vegetables, birds, animals, modes of communication and transport, folk dance and songs, pre-basic mathematics, poems storytelling and more. This will also include some value added study material with the prior permission of Zillah Parishad – Nasik to enhance knowledge of children.
Expressing her views on the occasion, Ms. Kavita Sahay, Trustee, Pratushka Foundation said, “Since inception, Pratushka Foundation has always worked towards the overall development of children in the rural areas. We are glad that our contribution in Nashik will help the children in the region proceed towards a brighter future with a strong education base. After Peth taluka of Nashik, we aim to provide educational support to the Adivasis in the Hilly areas.”
Pratushka Foundation has undertaken the project of renovating 33 such Anganwadis in the Peth Taluka of the Nashik district. The foundation aims to complete their entire project by the end of 2015. The basic purpose of this exercise is to open the doors of the new world by providing universal knowledge to students from down trodden classes of the remote village areas.
