With the perfect location that offers so much to explore in itself, and short enough distance from other major beaches in Florida, Miami is a fast paced city that has grown exponentially in the last 10 to 20 years. It’s only 20 miles from Ft. Lauderdale, 68 miles from West Palm Beach and roughly 150 miles from Key West. If you decide to rent a car, which Odyssey Premier Elite can help you book, you’ll get a feel of all different cities in southern Florida in just one trip!
Miami is split up into different districts. There is the Downtown district with is also known as the Central Business District, Park West, Omni or Brickell. It is the cultural, financial, and commercial center of South Florida; Downtown is home to many major museums, parks, education centers, banks, company headquarters, courthouses, government offices, theaters, shops and many of the oldest buildings in the city. Then, there is the Northern district, aka Midtown, Over town, Design District, Little Haiti, Upper Eastside. This vibrant section of the city includes the hip, artsy Design District, fast-growing Midtown, the immigrant community of Little Haiti, and the historic "MiMo" district of modern architecture in the Upper Eastside. Then, there is the West and South districts, Little Havana, West Miami, Coral Way, Coconut Grove, Kendall. These neighborhoods have some of Miami’s biggest attractions, from the Cuban culture of Little Havana to the lush vegetation and history of Coconut Grove. And, although tourists generally consider Miami Beach to be part of Miami, it is in actuality its own municipality. Located on a barrier island east of Miami and Biscayne Bay, it is home to a large number of beach resorts and is one of the most popular spring break party destinations in the world.

As for large festivals, there are two very popular ones that bring in heavy tourism. The first is Calle Ocho, which is the largest Hispanic street festival in Miami. It’s a one day festival that consists of contests, concerts, food and much more. There is also a carnival that is located in a lot to the left of Florida International University’s main entrance. The carnival is on the same day as Calle Ocho. The festival is usually held in March and is located on. Calle Ocho is free except for parking if you bring your car. Then, the Carnival Miami is a festival that consists of ten events along the course of ten days during the weeks of late February and early March. The Kiwanis club of little Havana (little Cuba) hosts this festival full of music, international foods, concerts, sports, culinary competitions, galas and an upscale Latin jazz festival.
So we would say, with so much Hispanic influence, if you’re a lover of Hispanic food, music, activities and history, then Miami is the place for you. Even if you are not, we guarantee that afterwards, you will be. Call Odyssey Premier Elite to get booking today before spots run out!
