Konkan or the Konkan Coast or Karavali is a rugged section of the western coastline of India from Thane district to Mangalore. Sapta-Konkan, a slightly larger region described in the Skanda Purana which refers it as "Parashurama Srishti."
The lands between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea, and between the Tapi river in the north to the Chandragiri river in the south, Maharashtra’s Konkan area consists of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Thane districts. One can’t find other coast in India which will offer such vast Beautiful Beaches, Majestic Forts, Sacred Temples, and Ancient Caves.
