Intensive Program for Online Course Producers Kicks Off in Moscow

Moscow, Russia, December 20, 2014 -- New Professions Lab, an education startup, a spinoff of Digital October Moscow, launched its first program - Online course producer (http://npl.digitaloctober.ru/). The program started on 15th November 2014 with support of Russian Venture Company (RVC).
Online course producer - is a 3-month intensive program that trains its students to become professionals in creating cutting edge online learning content. The course is taught by the international practitioners from leading companies, including Coursera, EdX, Knewton, Iversity and others. After the graduation, students would gain experience in the key areas of creating engaging content: instructional design, storytelling, video production, education marketing and product development. All the students would need to prepare a pilot course with the aid from experienced mentors and present it in front of the professional committee.
The program is designed to close the talent gap in the rapidly growing industry of online education. The online education boom starts from the course AI Class, developed by Sebastian Thrun in 2011. The online course was a great success and gathered more than 100,000 students from all over the world. Now the industry needs professional producers of content in order to support its tremendous growth.
New Professions Lab is preparing to launch new courses on emerging professions, including Big Data, Growth Hacking and others.
