Mumbai, April 26, 2016 The Convocation of the autonomous programs concluded at a glittering ceremony at WeSchool recently. This time it was the turn of the students of WeSchool’s autonomous programs (Post–graduate and Diploma) for a number of diverse areas like the traditional verticals of Management such as Marketing, HR, Finance etc to the new offerings that are quite in demand like Operations, Supply chain and also tailor-made programs for niche sunrise sectors like E-biz, Healthcare, Retail, IT etc. These diverse programs meant to develop and upgrade the management quotient of individuals are designed in keeping the changing needs and aspirations of a working professional’s as well as freshers wanting to gain a strong foothold in different industrial sectors.

Shri Dattatray Padsalgikar (IPS), Commissioner of Police, Mumbai and Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool presented the Convocation Certificates to the graduating students from different disciplines. Shri Sohanlal Jain, Chairman, Shri Shrikrishna Chitale, Vice-Chairman, and Smt Madhuri Misal, Managing body member, Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, the founding trust of WeSchool graced the occasion with their august presence. Other key members from Shikshan Prasarak Mandali were also present on the occasion.

While addressing the gathering, Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool urged the students, “Design your own future. Make Learning, unlearning and relearning a continuous part of your life’s journey. Don’t be happy with the status quo, pursue excellence and continuously raise the bar. In the journey of innovation, failures are bound to be there but celebrate failures as learning from failures is infinite. Transform self, and become instruments of change in the organization and society.”

While applauding the efforts made by WeSchool in training the much needed middle level managerial talent for a number of industries, Shri Dattatray Padsalgikar (IPS), Commissioner of Police, Mumbai said, “Your generation is fortunate as you have every information available to you at the click of a key. And you as students know how to leverage it to stay ahead in the race. Adopt an innovative approach to take you beyond normal studies, contribute to social responsibility by giving government services a chance as these too are great opportunities for you to contribute to society and nation. Your management skills will contribute greatly to government’s strengths.”

While Shri Sohanlal Jain, Chairman, Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, offered words of wisdom on balancing career and social responsibility, “Create a positive impact on family, society and the great nation that you belong to,” Shri Shrikrishna Chitale, Vice-Chairman of the trust said, “Learn to manage the stress in business, take the challenges head-on but make sure that you contribute time for nation building activity.”

WeSchool visualized the need for Managers and Executives to upgrade their skills and competencies from time to time in their careers. With increasing liberalization and economic activity picking up, the corporate sector in India would need a strong and steady pipeline of Managers to draw from, to staff their expanding businesses. WeSchool has therefore attempted to base its offerings on ‘T’ shaped learning, where domain expertise has to be combined with an equally strong ability to understand and respond as a leader to the broader business issues. This type of learning helps a student master new skills, explore diverse perspectives, and develop a leadership style that helps him/her to transform their organizations and take them into higher orbits.
