Data from INE Rural Tourism Accommodation show that Our Region is a National

In 2012, Castile-La Mancha ranked fourth in Spain

Spain, June 29, 2013 - The Minister of Employment and the Economy of the regional government, Carmen Home, expressed his satisfaction after knowing the data published by the National Statistics Institute regarding rural tourism accommodation during the month of May throughout Spain.

Castilla-La Mancha autonomous community is the third in this ranking, with 7% of overnight stays, only behind Castilla y León and Catalonia. Home, in this regard, stated that the known facts regarding overnight stays in rural tourism positioned to Castile-La Mancha as a benchmark in the field nationally. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that these data represent an improvement over the same period last year when Castilla-La Mancha ranked fourth with 6.8%. The improvement is obvious and therefore hopeful, he said.

It should also be noted that in May Castilla-La Mancha has also improved its position on April when he was in fourth place behind Castilla y Leon, Catalonia and Extremadura.

The Minister of Employment and the Economy also highlighted the importance of the tourism sector represents Castilla-La Mancha to represent 12% of GDP and create 42,000 jobs in the region. In this line, expressed his conviction that the numbers of rural tourism accommodation show how Castilla-La Mancha can offer a wide range of quality products adapted to the current tourism needs as nature tourism or adventure.

In this respect the Investment Plan and Employment Creation sees tourism as one of its basic lines of action which aims to position our region as a single destination but with products tailored to each application.
