Chilled Monkey Brains Releases New Album APEocalypse and Announces Coinciding East Coast Tour.

Tallahassee, FL, USA, September 29, 2014 -- Punk ska band Chilled Monkey Brains will be hitting the road this October for 22 dates along the U.S. East Coast, stopping at venues from New England to Florida to promote their newly released album, APEocalypse. The band’s second full-length is an unapologetically metal treatment of ska-punk, and the high level of energy on each track is infectious. “It’s definitely our best work yet,” said bassist Quinn Noble. “It’s our first album that’s really been able to capture the intensity of our live show.” The album was recorded by Lee Dyess at Earthsound Recordings, and features guest artists Danny Bedrosian (Keyboards/George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic) and Tim Blackmon (Trumpet/Fungle Junk). It is available now on iTunes, Spotify, and Bandcamp, and the CD release is set for October 17, 2014.

Formed in 2009 in Tallahassee, FL, the band drew attention in their first year, winning the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands and an invitation to perform on Warped Tour. Since, they have gained a reputation for their electric live performances, touring the U.S. multiple times and routinely playing with acts such as Less than Jake, Mephiskapheles, Authority Zero, Mustard Plug, The Toasters, and Voodoo Glow Skulls.

Scheduled performances this fall include:
10/21 – Baltimore at Club K with Blinding Eye Dog and Canker Blossom
11/1 – Richmond, VA at Canal Club with Red States, Never Wrong, The Privies
10/30 – New London, CT at 33 w/ Dead City Riots, Frank Lo, and more
11/6 – Tallahassee CD Release Party!!! w/ Watson, DJ Chris Reece and more
11/8 – St. Petersburg, FL at The Day of the Dead Fest with Oh, Ghosts, UNRB, Victims of Circumstance, and many more

Chilled Monkey Brains brings punk, ska, and metal together seamlessly into a sound that has drawn comparisons from Streetlight Manifesto and Five Iron Frenzy to Horse the Band and Iron Maiden. Their performances are a headbangin’ dance party, and there’s a good chance it’s coming to your area in the near future. “We’ll be announcing more U.S. tours soon,” said guitarist Steve Young. “We’re really proud of how this album came out, and we want to get on the road as much as we can to support it.”
