Black Leather Soles, a film about a once-gifted tap dancer running a failing nightclub in Harlem during the Great Depression, was first performed as a stage play back in 2001 to a sold out audience.
Black Leather Soles, a film about a once-gifted tap dancer running a failing nightclub in Harlem during the Great Depression, was first performed as a stage play back in 2001 to a sold out audience. Producing partners Gordon Greene & Howard Green (GreenePastures Entertainment) teamed up with David Strasberg to co-produce this entertaining and heartfelt play at the Lee Strasberg Theater in Los Angeles, California. The success of the stage play managed to garner five (5) NAACP theater nominations and two (2) L.A. weekly nominations, winning the NAACP award for Best Choreography. In 2005, Gordon Greene wrote the short film Black Leather Soles which he and his partner Howard Green produced. Black Leather Soles was selected into over seven (7) international & domestic festivals. Their short film was an instant hit in the film festival circuit. In addition to winning a Best Short Film award it was also a Kodak finalist at the Martha Vineyard African-American Film Festival. |
