Jaipur, June 6 - Chairman of AICTE expressed his views on Education for Generation Z. Prof. Anil Sahasrabuddhe told that the confluence of technology with tradition in the education world can no longer be avoided. Long before Covid-19, the Government of India emphasized the need to conduct 20% courses through the online platform ’SWAYAM’. Due to the current challenges, the scope of online courses has doubled. This will create new possibilities, not problems. He said that instead of ’covering syllabus’, there is a need to ’uncover’ it because every challenge before the world is the challenge of the new generation. Indicating that the importance of teachers will be increased rather than decreased, he said that knowledge gained from online needs to be discussed in universities because the final solution comes from the dialogue.

Pro. Sandeep Verma highlighted that due to Covid-19, not only the new generation but the old generation too has faced a job crisis. The online course will also prepare them for alternative employment. He told that SERB is promoting new inventions and discoveries by incentivizing and awarding them. He also emphasized the need for universities to make education global by having adjunct faculty and online education so students can learn and have role models to keep their zeal for learning. He said that new technology should be incorporated regularly to revive the education industry.

DD News anchor Puneet Sharma moderated the discussion and he started the talk by explaining the ’new normal’ in the society post-COVID-19. He stated that a dynamic global scenario is meant to change the education system. He asked the experts about the improvement of research and innovation in higher education, the importance of MOOC platforms, and changes to occur in the education industry post- COVID-19.
